Lily's Wai Sek Hong: Ipoh Sar Hor Fun

While you can get delicious Ipoh hor Fun in Ipoh for 3 ringgit (USD 84 cents! gasp), you can only dream of having it when you are actually in the US. However, thanks to the trusty Lily Wai who blogs about great, simple recipes of asian food, many food-lovers in the US have been able to recreate these favourite dishes. The only problem for some of us is however, getting the basic ingredients like soft hor fun (not frozen, broken up stuff), fresh herbs and spices. That however, does not stop people from trying, especially since Lily writes in such an encouraging style!

  1. hi,

thanks for giving me a good report.

i have found good rice noodles for the hor fun although not as thin as the fresh ones you get in ipoh but considerably good - look for the dried ones, they come in sizes like t-shirt - sml and xl.

btw my last name is ng and wai sek hong mean's glutton lane
